How Does CLOEE Work?

Based on the design parameters, CLOEE offers carbon emissions calculations and target reductions covering four main areas: Property, Travel, Supply Chain and Waste.

At the outset an organisational hierarchy is established. This might be a single organisation account in to which say property and travel are reported or it might be a group company account with several layers below such as companies, regions, departments, properties and even individuals.

Once established this hierarchy can be updated and amended as required. Carbon emissions management and reduction reports are available, subject to login authority, at every level of the hierarchy. Reports are selected by time period and default either to an organisation’s financial year or the calendar year as required and are consistent with the selected baseline period.

Once calculated a ‘baseline’ year is locked (although this can be unlocked by CarbonLow for rectification) in much the same way as a financial year is closed once audited accounts are prepared. Carbon emission reduction targets can (and usually are) set by organisations so that CLOEE can report year-on-year savings measured against the baseline year.

There are key features which make CLOEE unique including:

  • Supply Chain linkage which allows carbon emissions reductions by suppliers and/ or a change to a ‘lower carbon’ supplier to be reported and reflected in your own products and services and;
  • Integrated link to the CarbonLow Carbon Trading platform which provides 24/7 visibility of your organisation’s carbon emissions in relation to regulated allowances and /or your carbon neutral position.

CLOEE is available as a range of Integrated Carbon Accounting & Trading (iCAT) products that allow you to develop your carbon emissions reduction strategy in manageable chunks or move straight through to a full carbon accounting system encompassing all direct, indirect and supply carbon emissions.
