CLOEE has been designed with to meet several key requirements:
- To act as a common engine for easy to use, accessible, online carbon accounting products which integrate differing levels of complexity
- To provide calculations in accordance with:
- The Greenhouse Gas Protocol
- Defra/DECC greenhouse gas reporting guidelines
- BSI PAS 2050
- Carbon Reduction Commitment
- To cover the key areas of property, travel, supply chain and waste emissions providing cradle to gate calculations
- Uniquely allow suppliers and customer emissions calculations to be linked so that embodied emission calculations can be updated daily and the impact of each supplier in the chain made visible
- To provide a suite of management reports which meet the obligations of an organisation to report carbon emissions and reductions
- To integrate with existing business systems
- To offer ground up data capture across an organisational hierarchy while providing aggregated reporting using secure login accounts.
- To provide 24/7 access to an integrated carbon trading platform.
- To notify users of update requirements, success and failure measured against carbon emission reduction targets and or carbon emission allowances.
